Nintendo DS repaired
Ethan and Daniel were given a broken Nintendo DS Lite that had been left in a lost and found. The top screen was cracked. Richard Brenny my neighbor and I fixed it today. While it took almost a full month for the $30 screen to get here, the repair worked fine. There was one point when I realized that I was going to have to solder the speaker wires that I thought I had accepted a job that I could not do.
We did prevail! With the help of Rick and of Tammy's fancy magnifying device we got it done. I ended up taking an old BIC pen and taking the inside little tube out of it, cutting a small slit in the end and using it to wrap up the connection cable to get it though a hole in the hinge. I was really excited that it actually worked.
Right now as I write this, Joel, Isaac, Nathanel, and Ethan are playing Mario Cart against each other. They each have a Nintendo DS Lite, and they are playing wirelessly against each other. How cool is that?
Very cool.
