Christmas Season

Christmas Season is a wonderful time of year. All that food, all those parties. My wife and I talked today about everything that we have scheduled in the next few weeks, and figured out which get-togethers we are going to, and which we are not. The ones that we are not going to are work related. My workplace has three different holiday get-togethers planned, and I am not going to any of them. Mainly because we are "over scheduled", but also because one is on a weeknight, and it would be tough with the kids.

The ones we are going to are church related, and either are at times when it is easier to get childcare, or have prearranged childcare! It is interesting to me that I am at a point in my life where my social schedule is more determined by my children than it is by who I know or what I get invited to. We try not to go to much of anything where there will be drinking. Not just because I don't drink, but we really do not want the kids to feel like drinking is all around them.

My wife and I did get to drive around a little bit and see some Christmas Lights. I love doing that. I also admit that some of the gaudiest, brightest, flashing, different colors, crazy amounts of lights are my favorites. We have a nice white and blue theme for our outside lights this year.

Hmm... What kind of cookies should I make this year?
