Ethan and Daniel talk about vacation
Our Family went to Highland County Virginia, just outside of McDowell for a week. We stayed at Elizabeth's parents house, as her parents were on Vacation and needed someone to keep an eye on Granny, Elizabeth's (my wife) grandmother.
We fished, sunned, watched Hummingbirds, and went and swam at two different lakes. Elizabeth's parents, (Grandma and Grandpa for further reference) came home and spent the day with us on Saturday. We went to Douthat state park and swam on the beach, played in the sand and rented Paddle boats. It was great fun.
I have read that one way that kids end up remembering things later in life, is if they talk about things just after they happen. If that is true, Daniel and Ethan will remember this vacation for a long time.
Saturday night when we got home, I was putting Daniel to bed. He rambled on for over a half an hour about the day.
"I jumped in the water, Daniel splashed that boy, rode in boat. Played in sand. Daniel pushed button and water cold. Ethan jumped in water. Daniel went down slide."
It was a long recitation of the whole day. I just laid there next to him and listened to him ramble. He went on and on. He talked about the fish, and the rocks he threw in the water. He talked about a tree. He talked about Grandma and Grandpa, and Granny, Ethan, Mommy, the birds, and many things where I could not understand what he was saying.
Ethan has been talking about the vacation also, but in a much more controlled and understandable way. He likes to talk about fishing. It was fun!
I hope to have some Hummingbird picture up here soon.

Whopper Jr. is our favorite
OK, so after all of my rambling about fast food burgers, I have an admission.
My family loves the Whopper Jr. We do not love the Whopper.
I understand fully that it should be the same meat, same ingredients, just smaller. However, we like the Whopper Jr. Once again, the meat itself has very little flavor, other than charcoal. It is all about the bread and sauce.
They are 1.00. We can get 6 of them, and make our own veggies and home and be fed. I have thought about going to the Burger King website and seeing what the nutritional information of the Whopper Jr. is, but hey, why ruin a good thing with facts.
We also try to rememeber to order ours with no onions. We find that the uncooked, large sliced onions that Burger King uses are just to much.
I promise to not comment on my blog again about fast food burgers for at least 6 months.. OK.
